Social drinking is growing in India with improved lifestyle of its people. However, changing lifestyle comes up with its own benefits and side effects. Headache, nausea and vomiting, drowsiness, fatigue and body ache, and burning sensation in the stomach are the after effects of alcohol consumption.


Alcohol consumers have to be educated about the various harmful effects of alcohol consumption. When alcohol is consumed, it is mainly converted into acetaldehyde by the liver. Acetaldehyde at higher concentrations leads to headache, nausea, vomiting and/or stomach pain – THE HANGOVER. Frequent consumption of alcohol in excess increases blood acetaldehyde level that damages the liver cells which can lead to LIVER CIRRHOSIS.
