Hangover & Liver Protection

Social drinking is growing in India with improved lifestyle of its people. However, changing lifestyle comes up with its own benefits and side effects. Headache, nausea and vomiting, drowsiness, fatigue and body ache, and burning sensation in the stomach are the after effects of alcohol consumption.

Alcohol consumers have to be educated about the various harmful effects of alcohol consumption. When alcohol is consumed, it is mainly converted into acetaldehyde by the liver. Acetaldehyde at higher concentrations leads to headache, nausea, vomiting and/or stomach pain – THE HANGOVER. Frequent consumption of alcohol in excess increases blood acetaldehyde level that damages the liver cells which can lead to LIVER CIRRHOSIS.

Conventional medicines used in the treatment of liver protection are sometimes inadequate and can have serious adverse effects.  Traditionally Ayurvedic healthcare have been used as primary medicine for liver protection because of their wide medicinal activities and higher safety margins.

Kutki, known by the botanical name Picrorhiza kurroa, is a well-known herb in the Ayurvedic system of medicine and has traditionally been used to treat disorders of the liver.

Kutki along with Kalmegh, Kasani, Bhui Amla and other important herbs increase the activity of enzymes ADH & ALDH and rapidly removes acetaldehyde from the blood and prevents us from Hangover without any side effects.

These traditionally proven herbs boost the detoxification process of liver by exerting potent anti-oxidant effect which improves the functional capacity of the liver and helps in preventing alcohol-induced liver damage.
